Under Hook's tenure Carat has seen continuous success. Named 'Campaign's Media Agency of the Year' in 2012, the agency went on to win the UK's biggest media account in 2014 (The Government) and continued the momentum with recent wins includingMondelēz, Lionsgate and Eurostar amongst others. At Engine he served jointly as partner and client managing director before taking the chief executive role at mcgarrybowen in autumn 2013.
Tracy De Groose, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland said, "These appointments represent an exciting time for our business and are testament to the ability of our network to help our people build interesting and diverse careers. The moves strengthen our leadership by bringing fresh new perspectives and expertise to our different agencies and to our clients."
"I'm incredibl excited to be joining Carat," said Hirst. "Helping clients win in today's digital economy will take diverse teams and constant innovation. The boundaries are blurring and hybrid leaders are becoming more and more important. What hasn't changed is that it's still about brave ideas, client-centric ways of working and innovation. I'm looking forward bringing my years of experience in the creative business and adding it to the great Carat brand and leadership team that are already in place."
Dentsu Aegis Network can confirm that the search for Hirst's replacement to lead mcgarrybowen is in the final stages and should be announced in the coming weeks. Hirst will transition into his new role in the coming months and is expected him to be place fully by this summer.
